  • Malbank Football Academy

    Published 05/12/24

Wednesday 4th December saw Malbank Football Academy first match against Reasheath in the Cheshire Cup.

All 16 players made themselves, Mr Mellor, Mr Shore and Malbank proud. They worked their socks off in their first ever match against a well established, large squad of Reasheath players. There were moments of brilliance from our players. Mr Mellor’s favourite moment was our goalie, Luke Caldwell’s full pitch solo run, not his first one but his second!!!

The boys are now really enthusiastic and are buzzing and desperate for more games. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes who made this possible. The team have really enjoyed it and made some lifelong memories today!

If anyone is interested in joining our Football Academy or would like more information, please contact Mrs Kirk-Bradshaw on [email protected]

  • New House Captains

    Published 28/11/24

This week our new cohort of House Captains had their first official House Meeting. The students were absolutely impeccable, and it was lovely to see how nurturing the Year 11 House Captains were with all the younger students and how much enthusiasm they had for their new roles.

During the meeting, the houses selected their new house charities. The discussions leading up to their final choices were lovely to hear and the teams have all chosen charities that mean a lot to them.

    Bears: Cancer Research UK

    Dolphins: Children in Need

Kestrels: RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association)

    Wolves: Unicef

Fundraising ideas have already been discussed and there are some BIG plans afoot!

We also began discussions about bullying and ways to combat instances of bullying at Malbank. Pupils began to collect together their ideas for an anti-bullying charter. There were some cracking discussions and other ideas that students brought along to the meeting, and it was great listening to the ways in which they want to further develop the culture of Malbank

We are lucky to have a very diverse group of students involved in the Captains Council this year and look forward to their contributions this year.
